A Typical Day at Stockton Camps!

Every morning at Stockton Camps starts with a burst of energy. As the sun comes up over the University of the Pacific campus, campers wake up buzzing for another day of learning, creativity, and fun. Counselors greet students with a warm “Good morning!” as they head to breakfast — a hearty spread that keeps everyone fueled for a full day ahead. Fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, and most importantly, muffins, make sure every camper starts strong.

After breakfast, we gather for morning warmups and a preview of the day. Students stop by their program board to check out their personalized schedules, which include a mix of core activities and camper-selected sessions. Whether a student is in 3rd grade or 12th grade, every activity is intentionally designed around their age group, interests, and skill level. Instructors tailor each session to help campers stretch their creativity, grow their confidence, and take on meaningful hands-on challenges.

Then it’s time to dive into the morning rotations — STEM labs, arts & creativity studios, business challenges, rocket launches, debate workshops, leadership projects, and more. After a busy morning, campers head to lunch, where they enjoy a variety of kid-friendly favorites alongside fresh salads, sides, and daily hot entrées. Lunch is also when students pick up mail from home, chat with new friends, and share stories from the morning.

Next comes rest hour — a chance to recharge. Campers can read, journal, take a quick nap, or simply relax with their bunkmates or group. Once rested, we jump into afternoon activities, where students continue their projects, try something new, or work on passion-driven challenges with instructors and mentors.

After activities, campers enjoy some free time to unwind, shower, and hang out with friends before heading to dinner. Evenings at Stockton Camps are special — dinner includes rotating options like pasta night, taco bowls, baked chicken, pizza Fridays, and weekend barbecues. Meals are community moments where friendships deepen and laughter fills the dining hall.

When dinner wraps up, the fun isn’t over. Evening activities bring the whole camp together for games, challenges, performances, and team competitions. These are often led by our older campers, who help set the tone for leadership and community. Our annual talent show is one of the highlights at camp. Afterward, we wind down with a sweet Stockton Camps tradition: our nightly dessert treat.

As the day comes to a close, campers head back to their dorms to get ready for bed. Counselors help younger students settle in, while older students often enjoy a reflection moment together on the quad. At 10:00 p.m., our “Lights Out” call signals the end of another fulfilling day — and the beginning of rest before tomorrow’s adventures.

Every day at Stockton Camps blends safety, structure, creativity, and endless excitement, giving students a summer environment where they feel supported, inspired, and part of a community that believes in their potential.

Stockton Camps was the highlight of my son’s summer. He came home every day excited to tell us what he built, learned, or discovered. The instructors were incredibly supportive, and as a parent, I felt completely confident in the safety and structure of the program. We can’t wait to come back next year!
