Ascend Speech & Debate started at a dinner in Sacramento in 2019. We officially launched in 2020. Six years and over 1,000 students later, we're the country's largest Congressional Debate program, with campuses in California and Florida.
We've helped our students elevate. Into national champions. Into college students at Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA, Yale, Harvard, Michigan, and everywhere in between. Into adults who walk into any room and own it.

I was born in Stockton. I spent every summer here with my grandparents, my aunts, my uncles, and my cousins while my parents worked back in Sacramento. Most of my family still lives in this town. This is the community that helped raise me, and after seven years of building Ascend, I finally get to give special summers to the city that gave them to me.
